Houston Car Scene

A Quick question on facebook about how we value our car scene was just enough to spark interesting points of views from all types of people. There were the veterans, the noobs, The Stance, the drift and even from people who have experienced other scenes across the nation. Gabe Greene Stated that
“Houston is a great city for a car enthusiast. More meets and shows than a lot of cities. We have our issues, sure, but they are fairly miniscule.”
And he is right but what are the issues? The biggest common issue is car theft. At least a few times a week you can hop on the net and a fellow car enthusiast"s car has been stolen. It could be car specific, a lot of older Hondas and Truck thefts but all in all thefts effect the growth of a cities car scene because now you have people afraid to put money in their car just to get it stolen.

Houston Car Theft

Then Dexter Bayack brought up an interesting perspective aboutwhat needs to improve. he says..

Being a veteran in the scene since 1979, there is more to it than just cars and meets. There is the business aspect of it. There are the shows which lack spectator turnout from people who are not in the scene. There is a lack of marketing, sponsors to drive and push the culture. There is lack of collaboration, clear vision and planning. If you notice Houston does not have it's own car show. The events mentioned are touring events from other cities. Most of which are either copying each other with no real value or innovation. We do not have any publications. The scene is fickle.

So yeah you go to a show and the majority of the spectators are car enthusiast, and Houston can be a dog eat dog scene. sometimes you will see certain groups who will only attend their own functions and support their own team. I personally believe There is absolutely No Reason to not support another group we are all in this for the same reason to showcase our hobby and to talk about it with others who share the same common interest.

Support Car Scene

Houston Car Scene

Even with the egos and the few 1 star ratings we still pulled a high 3. people love how big the Houston scene is and how versatile it is. from the underground street racing scene to the drift side and the hard parkers Houston has a hell of a scene. Luis Chavez says
“The car scene is huge in Houston believe it or not... I know so because I've been around the country and I definitely miss the H Tine car scene.”
Mike Valencia Explains
“Coming from someone who used to live in California for a few years I would have to say 4.5 stars because we always have something going on here..... and there's lots of nice people in the scene that are very friendly and make it what it is. Htown FTW!”

AT THE END OF THE DAY THE SCENE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT TO BE. WITHOUT YOU THE ENTHUSIAST, THE CREWS, THE MEDIA COVERAGE, ECT. THE SCENE WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT YOU. SO SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CAR SCENE. GO TO MEETS ATTEND SHOWS AND BRING YOUR FRIENDS WITH YOU ITS ALL ABOUT HAVING FUN AND MEETING NEW PEOPLE

Hosted By: HOUSTON CAR CRUISE

Houston Car Cruise

So I haven't been to a Car meet in a long while. Most of The Coverage I have been getting was from single cars in Small Instagram Features in a more intimate setting. If you ever Covered a meet before there is only so much available time that you have to shoot meet and greet and network it can get overwhelming at times and while this was my 1st meet back the one thing I Saw that I liked was that There were a lot of Stock Cars. Now you might have just read that and said to yourself What is he thinking? We want to See Fully modded cars but hear my point. When you can throw a Meet where a ton of people come and not all of them are car enthusiast its like introducing the people to a world they only see in movies and TV That they didn't know existed in their City. At first I Thoght it was a bad thing to have so many stock cars at an official Ricebowl Premeet but That's a look on the Bright side of it however I Wish it was more organized. a Stock car section and the modified cars in a Section.

sexy car girl

Hosted by Team Logik and The Houston Accord Group This Meet had A Really nice Turn out. parking lot was packed. Some nice Cars came out and the timing was perfect ending right after sunset.

Red s14

This S14 was Flawless! Even though the car has on a Set of Replica Wheels you can't Deny that its a clean car. We personally feel that replica wheels are great alternatives for daily wheels and of course you don't expect to win a show with them but you can pull up to your average car meet and still turn heads.

Miata Slammed

on Work Wheels this Miata definitely stands out in a crowd. semi ratted out look and the Bride Seats resting on a roll cage lets you know that this isn't the wife's car lol

Street Bike

A Group of bikers Showed up as well. What's more perfect than a burrito for a biker's pit stop.

slammed truck

We are in Texas Right. one of the best parts about the houston Car Scene is that you can see the best of all sides of the car scene pull up to the same meet.

Sexy Car Girl

When your Girlfriend loves your Car Almost More Than you Do. Bella and her Boyfriend's 4th Gen Eclipse.

e30 bmw
